Psalm 46: 7-11 (TPT)

Here he comes!
The Commander!
The mighty Lord of Angel Armies is on our side.
The God of Jacob fights for us!

~~~ Pause in his presence ~~~
Who is the Lord of Angel Armies?  God Almighty.  One of God’s Names is Adonai Tzva’ot, The Lord of Hosts.
No body, no thing, no demonic force, no pandemic prevails against the Lord of Hosts.
Everyone look!
Come and see the breathtaking wonders of our God.
For he brings both ruin and revival.
He’s the one who makes conflicts end throughout the earth,
breaking and burning every weapon of war.
For he brings both ruin and revival. The verse talks specifically about wars ending and weapons being burned.  This in itself, makes revival possible.  While watching the news (and I don’t watch too much), I’m not seeing much reporting on the conflicts of war.  That is refreshing, to say the least.
But other things are being ruined and revived.  Our normal, frantic lives, rushing here and there, have ground to a halt.  This is extremely uncomfortable to many (and I’m not discounting the financial problems this has caused), but maybe we need some revival, some rest, some contemplation of what – and Who – is most important.  The Lord is not indiscriminate in what is ruined and what is revived.  He wants the unnecessary stuff, the draining, distracting stuff ruined and the lifegiving, relational stuff revived.
What is being revived?  I believe the Lord is calling us all closer in our relationship to Him.  This is why He created mankind in the first place!  He desires that we know how much He loves us.  (So much so that He sent His only Son to ransom us from slavery—so we can have a relationship with Him!)  He wants us to love Him.  He wants us to trust Him. He wants us to talk to Him.  He wants to visit with us.  What better time than when we can’t visit with others?
What about finances?  Don’t get me wrong, that is a huge problem for many.  Trusting Him to provide for me is a growth area for me, too.
God owns the cattle on a thousand hills. (Psalm 50:10) So what!  That means He has plenty of resources and He wants to – and promises to – take care of His children.  And not just on bread and water, the bare necessities!  I used to think that!  The problem is that we too often seek His gifts without seeking Him. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. (Matthew 6:33 NIV)
Surrender your anxiety!
Be silent and stop your striving and you will see that I am God.
I am the God above all the nations, and I will be exalted throughout the whole earth.
Surrender your anxiety!  That implies action on our part.  Let go!  Don’t hold on to our fears and anxiety like they are a comfortable blanket.  He’s not going to come snatch that safety blanket out of your hands.  No! You / I have to let go of it and give it to Him.
Here he stands!
The Commander!
The mighty Lord of Angel Armies is on our side!
The God of Jacob fights for us!
~~~ Pause in his presence ~~~

You may be more familiar with verse 10 in the King James Version (KJV), Be still, and know that I am God.  So, pause in His presence, take a deep breath, and picture yourself giving Him your fears, your finances, your frenetic running around, your faith, your future.  His promise is I will never leave you nor forsake you.  Ever!

(Deut 31:6 and  Hebrews 13:5 – Old and New Testament! )

And you can take that to the bank!
